The Crisis Is Here: A Conversation with Sam Cherubin on Climate, Health & Everyday Resilience
Join fellow HAYVN member Sam Cherubin for an intimate evening exploring how climate change is reshaping our health and daily lives, and the practical steps we can take to adapt and thrive.
Sam brings over 20 years of experience building digital health platforms for millions of people, combined with his deep commitment to climate health advocacy. In his new book The Crisis Is Here: Protecting Your Health in a Changing World, he bridges the gap between the science we’re hearing and the choices we’re making every day. From protecting our families during heat waves to understanding how wildfire smoke affects our lungs, to preparing our homes and communities for what’s coming.
During this conversation, Sam will share:
-
How extreme weather is already impacting our health (even if we haven’t connected the dots)
-
Practical strategies for protecting yourself and your loved ones through heat, storms, poor air quality, and other climate-related events
-
Why healthcare professionals need to be talking about this, and how concerned families can advocate for themselves
-
The intersection of climate preparedness, community resilience, and personal wellness
-
Real stories and evidence-based guidance you can use immediately
Whether you’re a parent worried about your kids’ future, a professional wanting to understand the health implications of climate change, or simply someone looking for practical ways to navigate these uncertain times, this evening will provide clarity, community, and actionable next steps.
What to expect: An engaging presentation followed by audience Q&A and book signing. Light refreshments will be served.
