ABOUT TOPIC

Are you concerned about changes in memory or thinking skills? This insightful discussion with Dr. Drake will delve into the differences between normal cognitive aging and mild cognitive impairment, helping you understand what to look for. Dr. Drake will also cover the warning signs of dementia, guiding you on when to seek help and what signs to monitor. Additionally, he will explore modifiable factors that can support cognitive health, providing practical lifestyle changes. Finally, stay informed about recent advances in Alzheimer’s diagnosis and treatment. Light refreshments will be served.

ABOUT OUR SPEAKER

Dr. Drake, a neuropsychologist in Darien since 2012, focuses on cognitive issues in adults and the elderly, collaborating closely with neurologists in Stamford, Norwalk, and Westport to assess patients’ cognitive challenges. Before establishing his practice, he spent nine years as an Assistant Professor of Clinical Neuropsychology at Columbia University’s College of Physicians and Surgeons, working with patients with memory concerns and those seeking surgical treatment for epilepsy and Parkinson’s. Dr. Drake completed his doctorate at Fuller Theological Seminary, followed by specialized training at Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s in Chicago and Weill-Cornell in New York. He and his wife, Brandi, have lived in Darien since 2009 and are nearly empty nesters, with sons Ethan and Miles in college.
