At HAYVN, we believe that community is more important now than ever before. Over the past year, HAYVN has grown to over 160 members who now “work from anywhere.” Like so many others, we have had to rise to the unprecedented challenges of 2020 and 2021 and reevaluate our plans. We are grateful to say that HAYVN has blossomed into a flexible office space we could never have imagined.

Our flexible office workspaces and member programming enable our members to connect, learn, and collaborate during a time when so many people feel deeply isolated. We introduced products and services to make work easier and more convenient for entrepreneurs, remote employees and even remote companies. Our daily educational programs have kept us engaged and grounded during the workday and beyond.

Socially distanced meeting at HAYVN

After almost a year of working remotely in “temporary” office spaces, many of us are evaluating the necessity of a centralized office. The flexible hours, the short commute from bedroom to office, and a uniform of sweatpants with the occasional button down for a zoom call are among the perks. But are these benefits worth forgoing an office altogether?

It can prove difficult to concentrate in a house full of noisy family members or pets and there is often no separation between work and personal time, making it easy to procrastinate or work until all hours of the night. Most of us never thought we would miss the conference room, but today we are craving in-person interactions.

“If you roll out of bed and sit in your desk chair, which a lot of us can do these days, you miss the gap from wakefulness and orienting your day. You literally go right into work. And you don’t have the space to focus on who you are as a human being,” said Dr. Lynnea Lindsey, the Director of Behavioral Health Services at Legacy Health.

Work from Anywhere and Everywhere

What do analysts expect in 2021 and beyond? In the future, according to Bloomberg contributor Linda Poon, “polls suggest that many workers are anticipating a hybrid model, with more flexible hours and days.”

Like Linda Poon, we believe the ideal solution incorporates a little bit of both: work remotely when it suits you, but come together as a team for meetings and collaborative projects in a safe environment. Working away from home, even a few days a week helps maintain a work-life balance many of us have lost this past year.

Companies are also beginning to employ a “hub and spoke” model to lower their HQ footprint as they adapt to COVID-19 – especially those with facilities in high rent districts. You are starting to see them reduce the size of their primary office (the hub) for remote workers. They are utilizing facilities such as co-working spaces or other flexible spaces (the spokes) as satellite offices so employees have a professional place of work that is closer to home.

At HAYVN, we’re offering an array of flexible coworking options, including private offices, flexible desk spaces, and a virtual membership to help with calls, mail and access to our virtual programming. So take your pick. Our space, amenities, and programs can bridge the gap between the flexibility we want and the productivity we need.

“The remote/hybrid work model, where people divide their time between the office, their home and wherever else they want to work, has been proven,” notes coworking guru, Cat Johnson.

The key to any remote working option is people need to feel safe regardless of whether they are a small business owner or employee working remotely.

At HAYVN, we have implemented new technology and adopted the most up-to-date regulations to make it safe and easy to work with team members outside of your home. We ask members to reserve meeting rooms large enough to maintain social distancing guidelines and comply with the spacing of desks and chairs.

We are also performing routine cleaning and disinfection, taking temperatures, providing hand sanitizer, and caping our occupancy at 50% (to learn more about our Covid safety implementations, read through our detailed guidelines). For those who prefer to stay home, we invite you to join our health and wellness classes, our virtual business summits, happy hours, meditation classes, and beyond as part of our diverse event programs.

HAYVN is here for you, no matter what. Connect, create and grow with an engaged coworking community of entrepreneurs in any way that suits you — no matter where you are working — through 2021 and beyond.
