This session is ideal for people who are starting up businesses and want to know what is absolutely necessary from a legal perspective to remain compliant, protect their assets, and afford them the least risk or restrictions.

In this session, Alexis offers her viewpoint on formation, entity compliance, typical initial agreements that small business owners may use over and over again, and cost-effective ways to protect business assets.

Alexis Brooks is an attorney who provides general business law advice and support to companies dealing with day to day business- legal issues. Aside from working on specific legal projects such as entity formation and contract drafting, review and negotiation, she also acts as outside general counsel to growth-oriented companies where she advises on hiring and compliance and brings together resources and external advisors on an as-needed basis. Fee arrangements range from flat monthly fees to hourly, project and capped fees. She graduated with a B.A. from Penn State University and a J.D. from Suffolk University Law School. Alexis lives in New Canaan, Connecticut with her husband and three children.
