Location is key! For the majority of employers and employees, whether they be in small or big businesses, the place they start their day is a major determinant of their productivity and mood.

A critical factor in job trends for 2023 is satisfaction from selecting a suitable workplace. Coworking spaces, like HAYVN, foster collaboration and career success by enabling people to connect, share ideas, and learn about industry news in a productive, pleasing environment. It can benefit your career, whether you’re working in technology, healthcare, or e-commerce.

Coworking Leads to More Innovation

Even with the changes brought on by the pandemic, the office is still necessary. Coworking spaces are a great way to build a supportive network with peers from various industries, which is essential for career development and advancement.

Roughly 84% exceed expectations and 88% find their job purposeful when they have an enjoyable workplace. People need to feel like “they’re part of something that matters,” and the office reminds us of this. Here, we can share our knowledge and insights about our work and be in an inspiring atmosphere that encourages discussion.

That’s one of the reasons why entrepreneurs shift to coworking spaces. Researchers from Harvard, Georgia Tech, and MIT have studied this trend in a recent Wall Street Journal article.

Harvard Business School expert Maria P. Roche believes, “Environments matter, and being close to each other is especially important in knowledge based industries.” Working with other startups on the same floor led to sharing ideas about the types of technology used. They leveraged networking to implement some of the things they learned from peers into their company.

Coworking & Collaboration at HAYVN

The same benefits can be said when you become a member. Complete remote work limits our interaction, which is necessary for all development.

Meet Karen Jose, Senior Vice President of Journey Health

Karen Jose was searching for a quiet office space when she came across HAYVN. New to joining a women-led coworking community in Darien, she appreciates how working in a professional environment helped streamline her job and responsibilities.

Journey Health is a digital health services startup expanding home and community-based care in California. I oversee six staff members, most of which are in California. While others are in Virginia, Texas, and Maryland.”

Jose enjoys HAYVN’s relaxing vibe as a modern office space.

“The members and staff are responsive, helpful, and professional. Everyone is a delight to converse with and learn from.”

Being at HAYVN supports her belief that working in a welcoming atmosphere with like-minded professionals is paramount to enabling each others’ successes.

Meet Anne McGuire, Founder of Healthcare Pathfinder

Founder of Healthcare Pathfinder Anne McGuire also values networking and connecting with other members. As a registered nurse and certified case manager, she has over 25 years of experience providing health and long-term care advice, advocacy, and management services to all individuals.

“At Healthcare Pathfinder, we create peace of mind by guiding our clients through the complex healthcare pathways. We make sure that they have the right coverage and advocacy for their needs,” she said. McGuire and her team use their combined experience to bring a vast range of services to the community, from insurance to case management.

What propelled her to set up shop at HAYVN? “The energy here is very motivating and supportive to small business owners,” she said.

“The HAYVN community played a significant role during COVID and kept us connected and current on how to pivot to a remote working environment. It has also provided the opportunity to present locally and nationally.”

McGuire makes time to collaborate with other entrepreneurs and professionals in and outside of work.

“We can discuss our ideas, challenges, and how to grow our businesses. Compared to other coworking spaces, we like having a platform to share our insights about health and long-term care. It could be during a HAYVN Half Time, community event, or mindset groups like the Sandwich Generation group.”
