Strong Savvy Women Monthly Meeting

Darien, CT — Divorce can hit women hard - and the stats prove it. So Strong Savvy Women is out to help women navigate this challenge.

One government study showed women’s household income fell by 41 percent after a mid-life divorce, while men’s dropped by only 23 percent. This means the financial decisions women make during the process have huge consequences. Strong Savvy Women’s event “Financial Divorce and Beyond at Every Age” will cover tips, trends and strategies for every point in life.

Julina Ogilvie of Principle Wealth Partners in Westport, CT is the event sponsor and will be sharing her insights. She is committed to empowering women through financial freedom and hosts a podcast called “Women on Wealth.”  Jen Kane Paterson, a Certified Divorce Financial Analyst and Registered Investment Advisor in New Canaan with Waterway Wealth Advisors, will be presenting on “Gray Divorce,” financial considerations at every life stage and tips for post-divorce. Both women will field questions after the talk.

The group is an empowerment organization for women who are single, divorced, widowed or are in transition founded by Amy Polacko of Freedom Warrior divorce coaching (www.freedomwarrior.info).

Refreshments will be provided. The group always protects attendees' privacy and only takes photos if permission is granted. 

Polacko started Strong Savvy Women as a support group in her living room years ago and it has now grown to include women from all over Fairfield County - and beyond. As part of her Freedom Warrior coaching business she empowers women during/after a divorce or toxic relationship and helps them create an amazing next chapter. Strong Savvy Women is under this umbrella and its Facebook community is free for all women, no matter what stage they are at in the process.

“Divorce doesn’t have to be the end,” Polacko says. “It can actually be an exciting new beginning.”

The group’s focus is moving forward – by supporting each other, learning from expert speakers and having fun. Past event topics have included Jennifers’ Law, financial tips, managing the emotional rollercoaster of divorce, co-parenting, self-love and dating post Covid. Attorney Rosemarie Ferrante of the Divorce Mediation Center of Ridgefield/Danbury LLC and financial advisor Alison Hamilton of Eagle Ridge Investments LLC are on the group’s advisory board. Strong Savvy Women usually meets on the second Wednesday of the month. This month is an exception due to Spring Break schedules.
