ABOUT OUR SPEAKERS

Alicia Sullivan leads Save the Sound’s development team and guides the organization as a member of the Executive Team. She oversees major donor and foundation support, membership growth goals, corporate donations, government grants, and currently, the Sound Future Campaign to raise $10 Million by 2027.

Alicia brings over 25 years of experience in conservation and fundraising to the team, having accomplished major conservation victories with the Trust for Public Land. She’s protected thousands of acres of land and lead multi-million dollar conservation funding campaigns.

Alicia received a B.A. from the University of Vermont and a J.D. with a Certificate in Environmental Law from Pace University School of Law. In her spare time, she enjoys the outdoors, hiking, skiing, and kayaking with her two sons and dogs.

Scott Redfern is Save the Sound’s Senior Manager of The Henry L. and Grace Doherty Climate and Resilience Institute and is focused on moving policy ideas into action by mobilizing people, coalition-building, and education using a simple, science-based approach. In 2023, he left his first career in technology, where he held product development leadership roles in startups and global enterprises including VCE, IBM and Dell, to work on preserving our lands, water, and air while addressing the impacts of climate change across our region. He has a degree from Northeastern University and a graduate certificate from UConn in Nonprofit Leadership, as well as certifications in Design Thinking from MIT and Climate Change Advocacy from Terra.Do, and is a certified Master Woodland Manager through CT DEEP and CFPA.

Scott is also the Secretary of the Board of Directors at The Center for Family Justice in Bridgeport, sits on the Appalachian Mountain Club’s Board of Advisors, and Chairs their Club-wide Conservation Committee. He enjoys tending to his vegetable & pollinator gardens as well as backpacking & mountaineering and has hiked the Appalachian & New England National Scenic Trails.
