Aging doesn’t have to be the end all to your confidence, your health, and your independence, but it starts with a decision: Are you committed to setting up your future self to live abundantly and confidently?
If you’ve hit your 30s, 40s, 50s, 60s and beyond, it’s never too late to begin making deposits for a better version of your future self.
This week’s guest, personal trainer and nutrition coach Linda Stephens, walks her talk, as she began training to become an IFBB (International Federation of Bodybuilding) Pro at the age of 42! She and Nancy get into why fitness matters and why it’s more relevant than ever for the midlife women to begin taking care of themselves.
Healthy Transformational Tips with Huge Benefits:
- Get 7-8 hours of quality sleep
- Take in 2-3 liters of water everyday
- Have intentional movement everyday
- Keep sugar, alcohol, and processed foods low and to a limit
“You can age gracefully, you can be strong, you can be healthy, you can be doing all the things you want to do well into your 80s and beyond depending on how you take care of yourself.” – Linda Stephens, IFBB Pro
Linda also addresses a myth that overstayed its welcome long ago. If I lift weights, I’ll look like a man. Sound familiar!? Most women do not have nearly enough testosterone in their body to lift and bulk up like men.
Ease your mind and know that you can lift weights, minimize your risk of Alzheimer’s and dementia, and counteract bone density loss and many other ailments related to old age. Building muscle and maintaining the muscle mass you have is key to your best future self!
