An OBGYN since 1999 and co-creator of TRIBE CALLED V\, her intention is to “increase our knowledge to decrease our anxiety”. Having travailed 6 miscarriages\, 3 births\, endometriosis\, weight loss surgery AND ovarian cancer\, she’s harnessed her personal experience coupled with her professional observations to GENUINELY help achieve a calmer perspective. She loves engaging with women on every level to guide them realistically in their quest for understanding of their bodies and minds. \nWhat started as an endeavor to connect with other women on Instagram (now with over 67K followers) led to multiple consulting and speaking engagements live and virtually. As well she is frequently quoted in online publications such as Self\, Huffington Post\, and Parents where she discusses an array of women’s issues. Perhaps most prevalent is the request for her to address the mindset of fear surrounding health issues in general and cancer in particular\, given her own experience with ovarian cancer and the surgeries and chemotherapy they required. She has been listed on Top Doctors with Castle Connolly for years and she has also been featured on Verywell.com\, WebMD\, and in the PBS series now on Netflix “HUMAN: the World Within” which have satisfied her long term pipe-dream of becoming a talk show host;) While still delivering babies and taking care of pregnant people with her group practice in Connecticut\, she also has her own private midlife telehealth practice licensed in Connecticut and Florida where she serves to help guide women and “strategize” with them through this stretch of their life. \nLinks: Website\, Instagram\, LinkedIn \n\n\n\n\nPOWERUp is facilitated by Penny Goffman\, Community Connector & Founder\, THATPENNY | CONNECT\nPenny is a highly regarded event curator\, networker\, and witty moderator\, renowned for her ability to connect guests and empower audiences. SUMMARY:Drop The Mic Night benefitting Make-A-Wish Connecticut brought to you by SPEAC Success (Offsite)
DESCRIPTION:SPONSORED CONTENT\nOctober 21\, 2026 at 5:30pm – 9:00pm at CoCreate | Stamford\, CT\nDrop The Mic Night benefitting Make-A-Wish Connecticut\nBrought to you by SPEAC Success\nLOCATION: CoCreate Stamford\, 47 John Street\, Stamford\, CT 06902\nREGISTRATION LINK: https://speacsuccess.com/dropthemic \n\nDrop The Mic Night is back this October with a brand new theme\, HOPE\, and all proceeds will benefit Make-A-Wish Connecticut.      \nTen aspiring speakers will take the stage and share their take on this October’s theme: HOPE. Five minutes each. Raw\, real and unforgettable. These are people from your community\, maybe your neighbor\, your colleague\, your friend\, who have worked hard to craft and deliver a talk that will move you. Come ready to laugh\, feel something and leave inspired. \nAnd here’s the thing about Drop The Mic Night — you’re not just an audience member. You’re a cheerleader. Literally. We hand out pom poms at the door because that energy in the room? That’s what carries our speakers through. The more people we pack into that room\, the louder the cheers\, and the more powerful the experience becomes for everyone on that stage. \n\nYour ticket also includes food\, drinks (alcoholic and non-alcoholic) and the kind of genuine\, warm community-building that keeps people coming back event after event. This isn’t a stuffy fundraiser. It’s a party with a purpose. \nAnd that purpose is real. Every dollar raised goes directly to Make-A-Wish Connecticut to help them create life changing wishes for children with critical illnesses. \nBy showing up\, you’re doing two things at once: giving an aspiring speaker the moment they’ve been working toward\, and helping Make-A-Wish Connecticut deliver hope\, strength\, and inspiration at a time when a child and their family need it most. \nThat’s a pretty great reason to buy two (or more) tickets and bring someone with you. \nABOUT SHANNON MALKIN DANIELS \nShannon Malkin Daniels is a TEDx speaker\, author\, professional storyteller\, and authentic communication expert. Through her speaking\, training and facilitation\, she helps leaders across industries build confidence and connection by communicating from who they are\, not who they think they’re supposed to be. \nShe firmly believes every person has a story to tell and a message the world needs to hear\, yet too many hold back\, either out of fear or because they struggle to shape their ideas into a clear\, compelling message. Shannon helps people overcome this by showing them how to refine their message and delivery in a way that strengthens trust\, deepens relationships\, and leads to more meaningful impact\, without losing themselves in the process. \nShannon holds a master’s degree in interpersonal communication from the University of Central Florida and has taught communication courses at Columbia University and Iona University. Her book\, Water Yourself: A Practical Guide to Weed Out the Bad\, Get More Good & Live Your Dreams\, has reached readers in ten countries. \nWhen she’s not speaking or working with clients\, you can find Shannon hiking\, making jewelry\, reading\, or soaking up the sun at the beach with her husband\, Matt\, and their French Bulldog\, Rover. \nLINKS: \nhttps://www.instagram.com/speacsuccess/ \nhttps://www.instagram.com/dropthemicnight/ \nhttps://www.linkedin.com/company/speac-success
